Thrombosis and Hemostasis Summit of North America

The Thrombosis and Hemostasis Summit of North America (THSNA the “Summit”) was founded in 2010 from a vision shared by several medical and pediatric hematologists, a hospitalist, and an internist to hold a single collaborative North American meeting dedicated to thrombosis and hemostasis.  The first such meeting, THSNA 2012 was a resounding success, with more than 1400 attendees and the presentation not only of state-of-the-art lectures, but also 160 abstracts.  THSNA 2014, also a resounding success, had more than 1400 attendees, 230 abstracts, a substantially greater sponsor support, and, for the first time, a basic science track for THSNA bench researchers.

Groups now represented at the Summit include physicians, physician and PhD scientists, nurses, pharmacists, coagulation laboratory technologists, clinical investigators, and young or “junior” investigators who are seeking mentoring.  With the last group, THSNA seeks to help cultivate the next generation of clinical and research professionals.  As a special collaboration among the THSNA member organizations, the Summit continues to feature the latest scientific research and provide ample opportunities for the exchange of evidence-based best practices to improve the quality of patient care.  Member organizations realize that we can all gain greater benefit by coming together as a unified group to spearhead a large and comprehensive meeting.
