For individuals living with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a rare autoimmune bleeding disorder characterized by low blood platelet counts, COVID-19 caused immediate alarm, as the virus and then the vaccines impacted platelet counts in some patients, causing both bleeding and clotting issues. This program will help you to understand whether the SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 agents affect platelet counts and bleeding/clotting events to determine if persons with and without pre-existing ITP have risks for adverse events.
