Pregnancy complications and outcomes in Ehlers Danlos syndrome

Ashley Benson.

Abstract

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) in pregnancy has been associated with many complications; however, diagnostic challenges exist due to the multiple subtypes of EDS. This talk emphasizes the importance of diagnosing the appropriate subtype and emphasizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach in pregnancy. We discuss the outcomes associated with hypermobile EDS and pregnancy and the limitations of these data, highlighting the challenges faced by both patients and healthcare providers. By addressing current limitations and advocating for future research, we aim to enhance understanding and care for EDS patients, particularly during pregnancy.
